Antique Natural Undyed 4 Strand Mediterranean Red Coral Necklace
19th Century — Handcarved Coral Beads with Gold Plated Clasp
Four strands of 19th century Mediterranean Red coral — each graduating from a slender 5.5 × 3 mm at the tips to a commanding 11 × 8.5 mm at the centre — cascade together in a layered sweep of deep, saturated crimson that is nothing short of monumental. At 195.6 grams, this is one of the most substantial coral necklaces in existence: the combined weight of four strands of genuine, undyed Mediterranean Red coral, each bead individually handcarved by a 19th century master, creates a piece of extraordinary presence and authority.
Spanning four lengths from 460 mm to 580 mm, the strands create a layered drape of remarkable depth and richness — the deep crimson glowing with the particular inner warmth that only genuine, undyed Mediterranean coral can produce. The gold-plated clasp adds a warm, regal finish befitting a necklace of this calibre. In perfect condition with no chips or cracks — exceptional for a piece of this age and scale. Sourced from a European private collection and authenticated by our 3rd generation antique specialists at Kingdom of Antique Arts, Vienna.
A monumental 19th century 4-strand Mediterranean Red coral necklace — a museum-grade collection piece of exceptional rarity and historical significance.
