This substantial 20th-century ring features a Mediterranean coral cameo carved with a woman's portrait. Swept, deeply carved hair frames the face, giving the oval cameo a sculptural presence.

The 21K gold setting surrounds the coral with layered twisted-wire and chain-like decoration. Openwork shoulders support the raised setting, allowing the carving to be appreciated from the sides as well as the front.
