Art Nouveau Silver Devotional Pendant with Crown and Charms
A striking silver devotional pendant with a crown-shaped upper mount and a large circular centrepiece bearing the inscription “PATRONA BAVARIAE.” Draped chains, a heart-shaped ornament, four acorn-shaped charms and a suspended cross create a richly layered design.
The gold-coloured face of the centrepiece and hanging ornaments contrast with the darker silver chains and crown. A portrait appears on the reverse of the circular centrepiece. Attributed by the owner to the Art Nouveau period around 1900, the pendant brings together devotional imagery and decorative movement.
