A compact 900 silver cigarette case with rounded corners and an elaborate engraved monogram framed by flowing foliate flourishes. Attributed by the owner to the Art Nouveau period, circa 1900, it combines a smooth silver exterior with richly worked personal decoration.

The hinged case opens to reveal two retaining bands in a warm golden-yellow colour. A round exterior button and a separate narrow hinged compartment add to its distinctive construction. The reverse is largely undecorated, offering a contrast to the engraved front. Presented as a collectible example of historical personal silverware.
