An ornate handled basket in 800 silver, attributed by the owner to the Art Nouveau period, circa 1900. Its tapering body is decorated with pierced scrolling foliage and floral motifs, allowing light to pass through the intricate openwork. A scalloped rim, decorated swing handle, and shaped pedestal foot complete the silhouette.

The photographs show the basket both with and without a removable warm copper-coloured insert. The insert's material has not been identified. Displayed on a cabinet or table, the richly patterned silver frame offers detail to appreciate from every angle.
